You've got a life partner with four kids and never got married? Awesome, well done you, all we ask is that the kids use your name. You're a dude who's into dudes? Great, we have some orphaned cousins for you to adopt. You're a lady who's into ladies? Cool, we don't have to worry about scheduling time off for you when you get preggers, also have a couple cousins to raise. You're pregnant with no man in sight? Sweet, if you're carrying it to term (and we understand if you don't want to, you have options), do you want to raise the kid yourself or have somebody else do it.

The Belmonts think respectability is for cowards.

They're so practical it warms the cavity that is my heart. Little prejudices keep people from achieving all they could and it annoys me. The stats on the low birth rates in a lot of countries, just, pisses the shit out of me cause you know what's the difference between developed countries with a high birthrate and a low birthrate? Governmental policies that make it easier for men, women or childcare facilities to take care of kids.

The Belmonts should be in charge of governmental policy, gdi!!!

Conspiracy theory: The Church wiped them out because they were too sensible about childcare.

I nearly went off on that tangent above and I'm glad you did it for me. I think it was probably a factor in the church's decisions. cause *gasp* they had to work with a bastard, and those two ladies are very obviously in a loving romantic relationship, and a priest just had to explain what a bastard is to a gaggle of children who didn't believe a word he was saying.

I stopped getting invited to sleepovers at friends houses on saturday 'cause their parents didn't want to deal with taking me to church with them. I asked too many questions apparently.

My parents had to drag me to church every Sunday. It was a mess. I read too much, too far, asked too many questions and wouldn't stay still.
